OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Market Intelligence Operations Manager to lead the development, operationalization, and continuous evolution of Alberta Blue Cross’ market intelligence ecosystem. This role will oversee the delivery of actionable insights to support strategic decision-making, guide market development, and strengthen competitive positioning.

As a leader within the Intelligence and Market Strategy team, the Market Intelligence Operations Manager will build and optimize our foundational and forward-looking market intelligence programs—enabling the organization to be truly "ready to learn." They will lead a talented Intelligence team responsible for transforming data into accessible, strategic insights and frameworks.

This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Product, Sales, Analytics, and notably, the Corporate Strategy and Market Development team. You will play a critical role in validating business development opportunities and ensuring market-driven thinking is infused across the organization.

You will have the flexibility to decide how and when you work. While you may be working from home most of the time, there will be plenty of opportunity to come into the office periodically for important meetings, team events and other purposeful connections.  You will reside in Alberta.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Operationalize the Market Intelligence Hub, driving the processes, tools, and governance that make it a go-to resource across the enterprise.
  • Manage and develop the Business Intelligence team, empowering them to deliver timely dashboards, analytics, and reporting that support strategic decisions.
  • Establish and maintain intake and prioritization processes to align market intelligence activities with corporate strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Pricing, Product, Marketing, Brand, CX, Sales, and other teams to collect, synthesize, and share insights that support both strategic planning and in-market execution.
  • Lead efforts to standardize intelligence outputs for consistency, usability, and cross-functional value.
  • Identify and support use-cases where intelligence can reduce risk, uncover opportunity, or drive growth, particularly in areas like SMB, individual products, and emerging markets.
  • Maintain and continuously evolve intelligence repositories, taxonomy, and communication tools to increase findability and adoption.
  • Ensure rigorous attention to data quality, interpretation accuracy, and insight relevance.
  • Foster a culture of learning and curiosity through storytelling, training, and insight dissemination practices.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience in intelligence, research, insights, or analytics roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in people leadership and/or operational management.
  • Experience with or understanding of business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI).
  • Familiarity with customer, market, or competitive research methodologies.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to translate complex information into clear takeaways.
  • Solid writing and storytelling skills.
  • Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Exposure to the health benefits industry or insurance markets is considered an asset.
  • Experienced in SharePoint development, implementation, and administration.
  • Experience in leading technical teams, bridging the gap between developers and business users is an asset.
  • Technical skills/background in code (specifically SQL, R, and Python), statistical analysis, data exploration is an asset.
  • Experience in actuarial analysis or financial modeling is a bonus, particularly if you have a curiosity about turning numbers into strategy.
