Torch Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a team supporting our Air Force Weapons effort.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Serve as the lead point of contact between program office and prime contractor for all matters related to component engineering and manufacturing engineering of circuit card assemblies and electronic subassemblies and line replaceable units.
Manage and oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring all contractual obligations and program requirements are met with high standards of quality and efficiency.
Represent program office in Programs Parts and Material Control Board. Ensure components meet specifications and regulations, test procedures meet standards and requirements, maintain component databases and documentation.
Perform assessments and evaluation of materials based on design requirements, provide expertise in component selection, and evaluate components based on performance and compliance. Manage the product lifecycle of components and protect design for production.
Plan, organize, perform, and provide guidance on Component Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing processes, and Mission Assurance.
Conduct manufacturing assessments and provide technical recommendations to enhance system design, producibility, performance and service life.
Provide focused technical and engineering analysis support during transition from design to development to production operations with emphasis on yield improvements, capacity analysis, management of parts, components, and materials.
Prepare technical reports with analysis of meeting program requirements.
Recommend design and/or test methods and statistical analysis approaches for achieving requirements and verifying levels of product reliability.
Review system design; analyze hardware and software integration and make recommendations to resolve deficiencies to ensure manufacturing and quality has been appropriately incorporated into design.
Participate and provide evaluation in design reviews of manufacturing technology insertion, application of process control techniques, development of inspection planning and assessment of production deployment activities to include tooling, test equipment, training, supply chain management, maintenance requirements and production planning and control systems.
Evaluate Proposals to identify and quantify technical performance, cost, and schedule risks with impacts to program objectives and milestones.
Perform data analysis to include long lead impacts, diminishing manufacturing sources material shortages, root cause, corrective action, and test thoroughness.
Evaluate method and procedure for inspection, test, and acceptance of hardware.
Participate in failure review boards, provide analysis of root cause failure, and drive implementation of corrective actions.
Participate in non-conforming material review process, evaluate containment and review activities, analyze root cause, recommend disposition of hardware, and evaluate effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
Represent the IPT at program office Risk Boards, Configuration Control Boards, Material Review Boards, Contract Data Requirement Documentation and at various contractor meetings, management reviews and engagements to include supplier assessments and surveillance.
Analyze and recommend actions from review of documentation such as material substitutions, non-standard parts approval packages, proposals for obsolescence, GIDEP alerts, Process Verification reports, Work Instructions, and Control Plans.
Implement, maintain, analyze and react to various production performance metrics and KPIs.
Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Supportability, Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship
Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent is required.
8 years of relevant experience managing complex weapon system programs within the DoD or federal contracting environment, including fixed-price efforts and contracts involving multiple stakeholders or subcontractors.
Must have an active SECRET DoD security clearance, must be eligible for a TOP SECRET DoD clearance
Strong working knowledge of DoD acquisition processes.
Key skills include analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, communication and collaboration skills, and knowledge of industry standards.
This position requires 25%/year travel.
Preferred Skills:
10 years of relevant experience managing complex weapon system programs within the DoD or federal contracting environment, including fixed-price efforts and contracts involving multiple stakeholders or subcontractors.
Preference for strong background in electrical manufacturing process development.
TS/SC at hire is desired.
Experience in Component Engineering, obsolescence planning and execution, Industrial base assessments, counterfeit mitigation, and supply chain management.
Experience with the manufacturing, production, testing, and acceptance of circuit card assemblies and electronic subassemblies/Line Replaceable Units (LRU).
Ability to manage multiple tasks supporting various projects.
Ability to work within a team environment of different skillsets and engineering disciplines.
Experience preparing technical reports and briefs.
Experience with Component Obsolescence Tools and Methods.
Knowledge of Industry Standards related to electrical components and materials, Supply Chain Management, AS6500, and AS9100.
