Starting Salary: $97,300 to $146,000 Annually

Position Objective:
The Manager of Logistics & Trade Compliance is responsible for overseeing the company’s import compliance and logistics operations in the U.S. This role leads a small team to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across international borders. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of U.S. import regulations with strong logistics management experience and plays a key role in aligning trade and transportation strategies with broader business objectives.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Divisional Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop a team responsible for day-to-day export/import compliance and logistics operations.
Set divisional goals, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in service, cost, and compliance.
Import Trade Compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for import-related regulatory inquiries.
Ensure divisional compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, and country of origin.
Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate with corporate compliance to update divisional policies and procedures.
Oversee operational tasks such as entry review, documentation, and broker coordination while maintaining accountability for overall compliance.
Oversee broker management.
Identify and implement duty savings opportunities in collaboration with corporate trade compliance resources.
Partner with suppliers to ensure customs reporting compliance.
Perform self-audits in conjunction with corporate Trade Compliance.
Logistics Operations
Manage inbound transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Collaborate with procurement and corporate logistics to optimize freight modes, carriers, and routes.
Resolve logistics issues and proactively address potential disruptions.
Cross-Functional & Corporate Collaboration
Serve as the divisional point of contact for trade compliance and logistics matters.
Partner with corporate trade and logistics teams to align divisional execution with enterprise-wide strategies.
Advise divisional stakeholders on trade and logistics implications of business decisions.
Provide critical data and analysis, in partnership with finance, to ensure all ensure customers are accurately billed for duty surcharges.
Provide container forecasts semi-annually for S&OP and route bidding purposes.
Training, Communication & Reporting
Provide training to divisional employees and partners on trade compliance and logistics procedures.
Maintain accurate records of import transactions and compliance activities.
Report divisional KPIs and compliance metrics to senior leadership and corporate stakeholders.
Experience/Skills:
7+ years of experience in import trade compliance and logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations (CBP, HTS, valuation, country of origin, USMCA)
Experience managing freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
Experience with value reconciliation and duty drawback.
Proficiency with ERP and trade compliance systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements.
Skilled in MS Office Suite of products
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
