Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking a leader to join us as a Manager, Structural Modelling, Design & Drafting. The Engineering Design & drafting Manager is responsible for management of discrete engineering modeling & drafting and the support of the project objectives. This position will be located in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Selecting and appointing engineering discipline leads to review, comment and approve documents from the Contractors in accordance with the contractual review and comment times.
- Resolving technical issues using well qualified technical specialists, with due consideration to Owner Specifications and Philosophies
- Ensuring that every member of the OE Engineering Team understand their responsibilities and limits in overseeing and validating the work of the Contractors.
- Supporting the Management Teams with subject matter experts as required
- Enforcing the management of project change process
- Coordinating technical reviews among all appropriate stakeholders
- Ensure overall engineering workflow and work processes are consistently applied.
- Focal point for technical issues/coordination between EPC and owner furnished equipment
- Manage MOC/PHA process.
- Research code issues and obtain necessary approvals with subject matter experts.
- AFend review meetings with EPC Contractors.
- Coordinate key design workshops.
- Understand industry standards, applicable regulatory codes and requirements, and company
- Build relationship with contractor project engineering counterparts.
- Understand contractual requirements and communicate these to team.
- Actively support safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of twelve years combined experience in Modelling, Design & drafting, Construction, Commissioning, or Operations of Process/Refining/Petrochemical Facilities. LNG facility experience is preferred. Experience representing asset owner in these roles is a plus.
- Minimum of five years multi-discipline engineering management experience
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priorities changes occur
- Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance on planning, scheduling, and engineering subjects
- Have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to include P&IDs, PFDs, C&Es, One Line Diagrams, Isometrics, and Civil/Structural drawings
- Broad knowledge of Codes, Standards, and Industry Best Practices
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with cryogenic or liquefaction systems is a plus.
