What You’ll Do
- Own and execute Mogo’s enterprise fraud strategy across multiple product verticals (lending, wealth).
- Design and implement fraud detection and prevention systems using a combination of rule-based logic, analytics, and AI/ML-based models.
- Evaluate, deploy, and manage fraud tools and technologies, including those that leverage artificial intelligence and behavioral analytics.
- Monitor fraud KPIs and loss trends, conduct root cause analysis, and drive data-informed policy changes and model calibrations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to implement scalable, compliant, and customer-centric risk solutions.
- Engage with external vendors, fraud platforms, and industry forums to ensure Mogo remains ahead of emerging fraud vectors - including ATO, synthetic identity, and deepfake-driven schemes.
- Contribute to incident response and case investigations in partnership with fraud ops or compliance teams when escalations arise.
- 5–7+ years of experience in fraud risk strategy, fraud analytics, or fraud operations.
- Strong grasp of fraud typologies and trends, including synthetic ID, ATO, deepfakes, and digital onboarding fraud.
- Proven experience with fraud tools, platforms, and technologies - especially those involving AI/ML, device intelligence, and behavioral biometrics.
- Proficient in SQL and Python (or similar tools) to conduct exploratory data analysis, build dashboards, and support model logic.
- Background in fintech, digital banking, or financial services preferred.
- Critical thinker with a strong bias for action, capable of operating in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
