DXC’s Insurance Software and BPS business provides a range of software and services to the global insurance market including life, wealth, health, commercial and speciality, property and casualty, and reinsurance. DXC is also a key partner of the London Market, providing digital transformation and outsourcing services.

DXC’s insurance business has 13,000 domain experts serving 2,000 insurance customers operating in over 100 countries worldwide.

We are seeking a permanent full-time programme manager to manage programmes, large projects and portfolios of projects implementing DXC Global Specialty software products.

The programme manager will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the business, the team, and specific programmes and projects. This includes the identification and development of reusable processes and assets.

DXC are looking for experienced Program Managers who have an in-depth knowledge of these technologies and those who are currently looking to expand their knowledge and skills. Apply those skills to:

  • Utilising a broad spectrum of technologies, to deliver part or all of the technical solution for our Clients.
  • Experience in both Agile, SAFe and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Apply acquired PM knowledge and be individually responsible for the delivery of infrastructure and application upgrades within a field of expertise.
  • Contribute to knowledge tools and communities, and ensure learnings are shared for reuse.

Core Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable work experience in project management or in similar roles or business
  • Holds current Professional Project Management Certification

Responsibilities

  • Manages customer project delivery.
  • Revenue is detailed in the Impact section.
  • Very large/ complex/ multiple regions or global /High/ very high risk.
  • High/very high complexity legal and commercial issues.
  • Manages project financials including P&L.
  • Meets or exceeds SOAR-approved budgets.
  • Provides reliable financial forecasts to the management.
  • Manages business development Identifies and develops new opportunities with clients Supports early qualification and opportunity assessment for large and complex opportunities
  • Acts as opportunity manager for high-risk deals.
  • Manages client relationships.
  • Communicates the direct value our capabilities will provide to our business partners and customers.
  • Manages project team.
  • Manages internal as well as external resources with a team size greater than 40 people.
  • Mentors and encourages skill development of project team members through others.
  • Provides detailed performance review input and development recommendations for key contributors.
  • Mentors others, providing a role model and support for individual development.

Skills and Experience:

  • Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques including Agile and Waterfall methodology.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful.
  • Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.
  • May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.
  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.
  • Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction.
  • Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of key operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to project management.
  • Recognized as a leader in the company's PM Professions community.
  • Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodology.
  • Relevant Project Management Professional Qualification – e.g. Prince 2, PMP (Mandatory).

Complexity

  • Works on complex projects where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of multiple, complex factors, and significant use of judgment.
  • Delivers projects affecting multiple client divisions or the enterprise.
  • Manages a portfolio of projects or a program and supervises other project managers on very large multi-function, multi-vendor projects.
  • The project may be global.
  • Manages projects requiring advanced scheduling and coordination techniques to meet client deadlines.
