The Role

Description
An exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist to join our growing team in a fast-paced environment leading Australia & New Zealand automotive industry. You will be responsible for Port of Entry (POE) operations in Australia and New Zealand for GMSV and Cadillac.
Responsibilities & Tasks but not limited to:

  • Ensure Port Of Entry (POE) operations meet compliance; fitment and production of vehicles are completed to legal, quality and engineering requirements and standards.
  • Support Management as required basis; import and export activities, cost, and budget reporting.
  • Initiate and coordinate sourcing activities with Global and Regional Buyers to ensure right strategies are identified and leveraged/executed.
  • Overall responsibility for POE accessories and parts material control for GMSV and Cadillac.
  • Responsible for managing NZ vehicle export from Australia to New Zealand
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities on on-time delivery by identifying cost savings, efficiencies, and logistics network compliance.
  • Address enquiries regarding vehicles from Sales and other stakeholders.
  • Follow up with key stakeholders to resolve any issues/queries for accessories and parts material problem resolution.
  • Forward planning of import vehicle processing for GM production and material requirements.
  • Responsible for inbound shipping schedule generation to ensure data is valid and systems reflect correct status.
  • Participate in the audit of the POE service providers stock control, preservation and annual inventory reconciliation of vehicles and parts on a regular basis.


Qualifications/Experience & Skills:

  • University level degree in Business, Commerce, Logistics, International Business, Trade, or related discipline
  • Previous experience working for an automotive industry is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the management of international logistics, freight forwarding and consolidation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound understanding of domestic and international logistics & freight forwarding business.
  • General operational knowledge of the domestic truck & warehouse industry
  • Highly organized, excellent attention to detail / accuracy, follow through and commitment to deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills with advanced Excel Skills.
