If you were the APAC Localization Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Localization & Transcreation -
- Lead the end to end localization process for all brand and product content across APAC (ex: retail, ecomm, marketing campaigns, social, email, product copy, packaging, customer service scripts)
- Ensure high quality transcreation that aligns with brand tone, voice, and technical product language
- Intervening as needed on translated content to ensure consistency and quality of work are elevated
- Collaborate with UX, legal, and compliance teams to ensure content is locally appropriate and compliant
- Project Management -
- Manage localization timelines and deliverables across multiple markets (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, ANZ)
- Lead and support regional recruitment of writers, editors, translators, brand reviewers, and working closely with them to ensure they understand the requirements, scope and priority of each project
- Lead localization projects with cross-functional teams for campaigns and marketing content, CRM, e-mails, product and web copy, retail, and more
- Manage the maintenance of translation glossaries and memories
- Develop and implementing processes to increase efficiency, and manage cost and time to market for localized versions
- Managing translation budget planning, invoices, and monthly reconciliations
- Market Collaboration -
- Partner with regional teams to understand cultural or regional nuances and communicating this information for the global marketing team, with the goal of producing creative content that is regionally relevant and successful
- Collaborate on the research and incorporation of industry best practices, innovations, and tools
Are you our next APAC Localization Manager?
- You have 5+ years’ work experience, with at least 3 years in a Localization or Language Management position ideally in retail or technical performance oriented brands
- You have proven success in a deadline-driven role delivering projects with multiple components and multiple stakeholders
- You have experience working with TMS, LLM and other translation tools
- You have experience working with Project Management tools
- You are familiar with numerous languages; native speaker of at least one or more APAC languages - Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin is ideal. Fluency in English is required.
- You are a creative as well as strategic thinker who can demonstrate strong organizational and management skills.
- You set a clear vision, align your partners around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
