This position is Full-Time and Remote within the United States.

You will:

• Be the strong voice of legal reason, practical business advice and judgment to our leadership team on all matters relating to risk, execution and growth
• Build a great team of legal professionals to support our corporate strategy, and rapid growth
• Own the Sales and Purchase Contracts process and drive for best-in-class practices
• Create high quality and timely legal advice, processes, and systems across the company—including selection and retention of outside counsel
• Protect and enforce our IP rights, including copyright, trademarks, patents and trade secrets
• M&A / Fundraising: Lead the legal process in any transaction ranging from initial deal identification, to due diligence, negotiations, disclosures, contracts, deal closing and post integration support
• Work cross-functionally across the business to mitigate legal risk, oversee risk management and scale best practices across the entire organization
• Partner with our People Team on all matters related to people and labor laws
• Own strategy and counseling for corporate legal matters
• Build and manage the Company’s Compliance team and ensure that the Company is well positioned to understand and adhere to all relevant local, state, federal and international laws
• Work cross-functionally across teams to help support company growth, product development and remove barriers to revenue growth by providing insightful legal counsel and building processes that will help scale the operations globally

We are looking for:

• Past experience in a senior legal capacity in a late stage or publicly traded software (preferable SaaS-based) Cloud, application or platform software company for at least 10 years
• Experience with protecting IP rights, including copyrights, patents, trademarks and/or trade secrets
• Experience managing a large team of legal professionals and expertise in software-based (SaaS or PaaS) Customer contracting
• Experience managing complex projects while demonstrating exceptional business judgment and building relationships with executive teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal concepts and into simple, actionable recommendations
• Comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to both delve into details and engage meaningfully on overall strategy
• J.D. from an American Bar Association accredited law school. Current member in good standing of a state bar, preferably California

Nice to have:

• Has either taken a SaaS company public or worked at a public company that has recently gone public with comprehensive knowledge and experience in public company legal and SEC requirements
