In this pivotal role you will manage an engaged and high-performing team of la wye r s and contracts professionals r esponsib le for drafting and negotiating contracts, service orders , a n d ot h e r lega l documents in support of our compa n y ' s global sa l es and business development efforts, including our Commercial Aviation business. You will provide hands-on, proactive and practical strategic legal advice and support to senior management, and your team, in furtherance of commercial business objectives. You will close l y partner with the Sales t eam and colleagues in F inance, Eng ineer ing , Yield Management , and Marketing to help manage our customer base and ensure high quality customer service internall y and ex t ernally. You w ill serve as a focal point bringing together regulatory, co rp orate, legal and finance t o support each sales effort and provide critical legal support t o the supply chain department in the acquisition of products and services. Additionally, you will participate in sales and revenue meetings and serve on related cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement, refinement, and streamlining corporate contract processes for sales of services to customers. You will manage commercial litigation, serve as the legal focal point for antitrust issues and provide a full range of legal support for satellite procurement, launch and insurance.

Impacts you will make:
- Manage a global team drafting and negotiating global commercial contracts and partner agreements
- Draft and negotiate satellite construction, satellite launch and satellite insurance agreements.
- Advise and counsel senior executives on commercial issues
- Supp or t Procurem e nt in the ac quisition of products and service for the company
- Oversee and manage commercial litigation and dispute resolution
- Serve as in-house focal point for antitrust compliance
- Provide additional legal support as needed, e.g., transaction-related, due diligence, regulatory proceedings, collections, etc.
- Provide any other legal support as deemed necessary by the SVP & Deputy General Counsel
You should definitely have:
- JD from an accredited law school
- At least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in transactional work in a high-tech company
- Significant track record of successfully managing high-performing legal teams
- Expertise in negotiations required
- Must have demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn and adapt to the complex nature of Intelsat's rapidly evolving business
- Must have Impeccable legal and business judgement, excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including self-motivation, a non-hierarchical attitude, and a cooperative spirit
- Strong legal and communications skills required
- Sound analytical, writing and organizational abilities are critical
- Ability to work in a widely dispersed cross-functional team environment, manage certain assignments without close supervision, manage external counsel and consultant relationships and collaborate with internal clients
- Ability to interact effectively with people of various cultural backgrounds.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software suite (MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook).
But it would be nice if you had:
- Experience at a major U.S. law firm preferred
- Familiarity with international, regional and domestic regulatory bodies
