Position Overview
Quickbase is looking for a Senior Counsel to join its legal team and perform a wide variety of hands-on legal work with a primary focus on commercial contracts. You will be integral in providing legal support to the sales team in meeting and exceeding its sales targets. Additionally, you may also provide contract review and general legal support for other areas of the business, such as product, security, marketing, security, and HR.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft various commercial contracts, including Software as a Service ("SaaS") agreements, software license agreements, confidentiality agreements, support and services agreements, partner agreements, and other purchasing agreements
- Draft and negotiate State/ Local government and Education ("SLED") and Federal government contracts for SaaS, services, and software
- Manage and improve the procurement process, including creating playbooks and process documents, and updating templates
- Develop training materials and provide training to the business on relevant legal topics and best practices; and implement enablement programs and playbooks
- Generate responses for request for proposals, requests for information, and other similar inquiries for SLED, federal government, and private sector parties
- Assist with legal department projects as assigned, including the development and implementation of templates, trainings, playbooks, policies, and processes, including around security and privacy compliance
- Provide general day-to-day legal advice
- Partner with other attorneys on legal team initiatives, and carry out or assist with other related duties, as needed
Qualifications
- JD or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school
- Member of a State Bar and in good standing
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience (prior in-house experience negotiating enterprise SaaS contracts and supporting an enterprise sales team, is highly preferred); international or government contracting experience
- Excellent negotiating and contract drafting skills, including experience negotiating customer drafted forms
