We are expanding our legal group and are looking for a Senior Contracts Manager who will report to the SVP and General Counsel. You will work directly with a small and efficient legal team of three people, and will be supporting a rapidly growing FinTech with diverse legal needs and challenging work. Greenlight’s product offerings have expanded over the last year, which has added to the volume of contracts being reviewed by the legal group. This role will be responsible for the intake and management of new contract review requests from all other departments within the company using the Ironclad contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, including coordination with attorneys negotiating the agreements, and with other internal processes such as the assignment of purchase order numbers through by finance group and the vendor approval process managed by the compliance group.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills; intellectual curiosity; self-starter; demonstrated ability to take initiative, and work independently with minimal oversight
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite) (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides), Slack, SharePoint and DocuSign

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as the first line of legal department support for any contract review requests
  • Organize and maintain a legal database
  • Design, develop, refine, and simplify legal processes such as third party contract intake, and signature approval by department and dollar threshold
  • Become an expert on Ironclad contract lifecycle management (CLM) software
  • Serve as the Ironclad administrator and manage the following new contract processes: (i) new contract intake; (ii) assignment of contracts to legal staff for legal review; (iii) arrange conference calls with legal counsel for vendors to negotiate contractual terms; (iv) arrange for signature process with on finalized contracts with authorized departments heads through DocuSign integration; and (v) following contract execution, insert relevant meta data into Ironclad database as part of archive process
  • Review, analyze and negotiate a wide range of third-party contracts including mutual non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, and order forms. The complexity of agreements will be based on the hired candidate’s experience
  • Assist in the development and improvement of agreement templates, training materials, policies and processes to address and streamline recurring and anticipated business and legal needs
  • Work collaboratively with the SVP and General Counsel to develop legal department metrics for the Board and Executive Team, and prepare legal department presentations
  • Perform administrative responsibilities as requested from time to time such as developing periodic reports for bi-weekly operating committee meetings and quarterly Board meetings
  • Work closely with Greenlight attorneys and outside counsel on other initiatives and projects

What you should bring:

  • A can-do attitude
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal team analyzing, managing, and negotiating contracts and managing a contract database
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills (including with regard to contract negotiation) and the ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with a direct to consumer (D2C) e-commerce business, privacy and data protection matters, and experience working with marketing teams, are a plus
  • Must be resourceful, inquisitive, and driven to learn new skills and gain a deep understanding of the company's business
  • Must be a team player with superior interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work effectively in a social and highly collaborative environment
