About the team
The FIS Legal team is comprised of approximately 200 attorneys and paraprofessionals worldwide who enjoy being an advisor to and partner with our businesses to help the company achieve its goals. We work collaboratively with each other and with our business colleagues to solve problems in an effective and pragmatic manner. We view our role as one of supporting our business leaders in a variety of legal matters, and we strive to assist our businesses in meeting their objectives with sound, reasonable and well-considered legal counsel.
What you will be doing
You will provide support for a variety of law-related activities relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and strategic transactions that do not require a law degree including legal or factual research, and document preparation and analysis

  • Performs research and diligence related to transactions and filings.
  • Develops and organizes physical and virtual data rooms and manages data.
  • Assists in and manages the signing and closing of transactions, including the preparation of closing deliverables.
  • Works with lawyers to coordinate due diligence efforts and review of disclosure schedules.
  • Monitors deal progress to confirm that internal deadlines are met and internal policies are complied with.
  • Maintains database of, and record retention for, all pending and completed transactions.
  • Assembles, proofs and edits drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies.
  • Prepares and files legal documents with appropriate entities as required.
  • Conducts research on projects as directed by corporate attorneys.
  • May review and ensure FIS is in compliance with regulations.
  • Researches issues and provides supporting information when necessary.
  • Assists in monitoring pending legislation as it pertains to business line.
  • Acts as liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and in-house employees.
  • May draft minutes of corporate meetings or review and evaluation.
  • Works independently focusing on work that is often highly confidential in nature.


What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience (paralegal and/or ICSA certification preferred).
  • 4 or more years of experience
  • Knowledge of document preparation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and legal software applications
  • Knowledge of legal and/or regulatory research techniques and tools
  • Understanding of technical legal terminology
  • Ability to write legal/regulatory documents, summaries and other correspondence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature
  • Effective time management skills
