The Opportunity at Volta Charging

The Legal Operations Lead will design, implement and manage the processes and procedures necessary to allow the legal team to efficiently support the growing scale of Volta’s business.

In your first 90 days, you will

• Evaluate the current environment, propose and receive approval for a 12-month work plan to improve legal department processes and automation, establish a budget for the group and develop a legal vendor management plan

After twelve months, you will have accomplished

• Putting in place for the legal team processes and procedures that reduce friction, increase efficiency, and appropriately manage risk, while ensuring that business teams have a clear understanding of the processes and procedures for working with the legal team 
• Driving increased automation and effective use of technology solutions for the legal team, including related to knowledge management, contract management, and legal department functions
• Partnering with FP&A on budgeting for the legal department. Liaison with outside counsel on budgeting matters, including requiring monthly accruals and forecasting.

What you bring to Volta Charging

• A zeal for building systems; turning manual processes into automated ones effectively and efficiently
• An ability to work with remote personnel, in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
• 5-7 years’s experience as part of a legal operations team for a publicly-traded company
• Working knowledge of SOX compliance, document retention principles, and automated contracting systems
• Familiarity with Salesforce and Netsuite
• College degree or its equivalent
