Legal-DALLAS-VP TIPC-Business Unit Legal
The Legal Division is looking for a talented, problem-solving attorney to join the Technology, Intellectual Property and Contracts team responsible for advising the firm's Executive Office Global Marketing team on technology transactions and intellectual property-matters for marketing, branding and content initiatives. This Attorney position offers a unique opportunity to partner with and advise a dynamic Executive Office Global Marketing team for a leading worldwide brand on challenging commercial, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The marketing organization will consist of Center of Excellence teams including Brand Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Transformation, Content, and Media, as well marketing teams for each of our revenue divisions. This Attorney position will play a central role in advising the Executive Office Global Marketing team as it focuses on building a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing advice and counsel on commercial transactions; data and content licensing; cloud computing and software services agreements; professional services agreements; and copyright and trademark agreements.
- Reviewing and advising on intellectual property issues, primarily copyright and trademark, in marketing materials and other content.
- Provide legal contractual support for Executive Office initiatives, such as Launch with GS, 10,000 Small Businesses, One Million Black Women and GS Accelerate.
- Instructing/working with/managing external counsel and consultants.
- Working closely with Legal and Compliance colleagues regarding Executive Office initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of technology, intellectual property and contract laws and regulations.
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience required in a leading law firm or financial institution.
- Experience in commercial contracting for data, software, digital platforms, or other technology services; experience with regard to contracting for marketing technology helpful but not essential
- Knowledge of commercial and intellectual property law
- Understanding of vendor engagement processes, helpful but not mandatory.
- Team player with sound commercial and legal judgment, and strong analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- High level of initiative, integrity, and organization.
- Comfortable engaging with senior executives.
- Admitted to the Texas State Bar.
