Position Summary:
Ensure Agora's operations and procedures meet compliance standards by performing counterparty due diligence on incoming originators, prepare legal documents for originators, perform various legal, and compliance tasks as needed.
What You'll Do:
- Review customer files and corporate documents from dealers
- UCC search of originators and file UCC on originators after contract execution
- Run background checks and business searches using Lexis Nexis
- Conduct and review credit reports of originator owners
- Use SOS website to check business standing and UCC filings
- Maintain all contracts, pre and post execution for all departments
- Evaluate exception reports and report issues
- Assist Account Managers with documents needed for dealers (Supplements, Releases)
- Maintain excel sheets with originator information
- Create lender release forms for originators with active lenders
- Generate various agreements for lenders (MRA and all Trade documents)
- Examine execution of all agreements
- Communicate with legal/risk team on Legal issues
- Performance of various compliance tasks (Clean desk review, AFSA, etc.)
- Perform and assist with various legal tasks from management
Requirements
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree or 7 plus years of similar job description experience
- Experience in drafting and revising documents suited for management is a plus
- Paralegal experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Lexis Nexis is preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with reviewing documents
- Understanding of legal language and principles, processes, and other related matters
- Ability to navigate through state's Secretary of State websites for filing and business research
- Knowledge of reading Credit Reports
- Maintain confidentiality while exercising discretion and good judgment
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
