Job Description
Dynatrace is looking for an experienced lawyer to provide critical contract negotiation support for its global procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for transactions involving all aspects of our global business operations. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience independently negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, with a focus on SaaS and related services agreements. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of a workflow to create scalability and efficient process across multiple internal teams to support a growing, agile global business and thoughtfully manage third party risk.
As Global Procurement Counsel, you are resourceful, capable of building strong business relationships, and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are a proven expert in contract drafting and negotiation, with demonstrated expertise in global privacy laws and regulations applicable to cloud environments. You proactively and effectively identify opportunities to streamline the contracting and negotiating process. You are organized and efficient. You are passionate about the idea of scaling and enjoy leveraging technology and workflows to increase productivity.
Specific capabilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- You have considerable experience and confidence negotiating a wide variety of inbound procurement contracts including SaaS solutions, hosting agreements, services agreements (independent contractors, consultants, professional services), confidentiality agreements, marketing (PR and content syndication) and event agreements (hotels and venues), and other general business contracts. Leasing experience a plus.
- You can run independently on big-ticket projects and are knowledgeable about data protection terms and security requirements. You are the principal point of contact within the Legal team for supplier contracts and compliance, providing practical, actionable advice to business teams on legal risk, contractual rights and obligations and highlighting significant commercial terms.
- You enable the business with self-service resources, templates, playbooks, and training, and are comfortable leveraging CLM and similar software.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; admitted to practice and in good standing in Massachusetts or your applicable state
- At least 7 years of working experience as a lawyer with a minimum of 2 years in-house, preferably in a global technology company
- Expertise with data protection and privacy laws; leasing a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to provide samples of work
- Self-starter, with a proven ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and take ownership to drive projects to completion
- Attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency and good follow-through skills necessary
