You will serve as a trusted resource for our team, working to mitigate risk across the business while contributing to a positive, professional and inclusive culture. You will partner with the Community leadership team to help ensure that Community sets the tone for legal compliance and high ethical standards at all times.

Ideal candidate for this role must be strategic and capable of driving customer-focused decision-making, while also maintaining a willingness to roll up their sleeves on a daily basis. Experience leading corporate and financial transactions and M&A matters is preferred but not required.
  • Provide leadership and oversight over all employment law and other people-related compliance matters
  • Play a key role in the evaluation of potential corporate transactions, due diligence matters, obtaining any governance and/or regulatory approvals, and assist with any post-closing activities
  • Advise on intellectual property, regulatory, data privacy requirements, employment, and advise on strategic legal matters and legal implications to mitigate risk and protect Community’s business
  • Responsible for the management of internal and external counsel, including selection, retention, budget alignment, evaluation, and optimization
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of current developments in the legal landscape; continually seek out and introduce new trends that could impact the growth and effectiveness of the business

  • Has led the legal function at a high-growth startup previously.
  • Leadership excellence, including communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • An ability to communicate legal conclusions clearly to both those who do not have a legal background and those who think they do.
  • Self-starter who is able to deliver in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight and changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent judgment.
  • Expertise in various collaboration and organizational tools.
  • A sense of humor, humility, and strong sense of self-awareness
