ABOUT THE ROLE 🤹‍♀️

Reporting to our CEO, you will be responsible for:

  • Act as a true generalist and legal partner to internal business teams on a variety of legal topics pertaining to vendor agreements, compliance, privacy, intellectual property, security, employment, tax, and financial regulations
  • Manage external counsel when necessary
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts
  • Support the CEO and finance team in capital raising efforts
  • SME on financial regulatory laws and constantly staying on top of changing legislation in the industry 
  • Build trust and influence the leadership and business roadmap
  • Handle corporate governance matters, including Board materials, consents, minutes, and manage internal processes and policies
  • Monitor pending/emerging legislation and regulation and advise teams of regulatory developments
  • Responsible for anticipating and addressing potential legal risks


ABOUT YOU 🦄

  • JD degree 
  • 7-12 years (minimum) of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves and build out the legal practice over time
  • Experience at a fast growing startup
  • Experience acting as a true generalist 
  • Proven ability to proactively, efficiently, and accurately assess legal business risks in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial regulation, compliance and privacy experience a plus 
  • Late stage or public company experience a plus
  • Track record of creative problem-solving, excellent written and oral communication skills, and creation of strong and trusted cross-functional relationships
  • Proactive personality and strong eagerness to learn about the business, the industry, and new areas of the law and applicable regulations
