We are looking for a Director, Legal Operations Resource Optimization to join our team to help us continue transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron's Legal Department is poised for growth and innovation, and we are seeking a Director, Legal Operations Resource Optimization to support the legal organization as we move to the next level. Reporting to our Senior Director, Legal Operations, this role will manage business analysts and external resources and help drive improvements in legal operations to better support and empower Micron's legal organization. This role is for you if you are passionate about efficiency and thrive when collaborating to solve problems.
What You'll Do:

  • Assist in the build out of the legal operations function to build, manage and maintain the processes, data, and technology to drive Micron's legal team to be a data-driven, high-performing organization


  • Create and execute a legal organization development program including onboarding program and management of legal team education, training, and seminars


  • Develop preferred counsel strategy with rigorous focus on performance indicators, service level expectations, regulatory compliance, risk management, and diversity and inclusion.


  • Oversee global outside counsel program and processes including onboarding all new outside counsel, establishing and executing business reviews with outside counsel, maintaining, and updating outside counsel guidelines and create, maintain and analyze outside counsel scorecards


  • Help create legal operations focused playbooks, templates, training materials and guidelines to drive operational efficiencies, increase productivity, decrease risks, and contain costs


  • Work closely with the rest of the Legal Operations team to drive ongoing strategic initiatives


  • In partnership with finance, oversee spend within the legal team, analyze legal budget and provide ongoing financial guidance to optimize resource allocation and spend.


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or MBA is preferred, but not required


  • 5+ years of experience in a related position in Legal Operations or law firm management


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, compromise, demonstrate diplomacy, and otherwise interact well with colleagues and management


  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks, and manage competing priorities effectively and independently, including driving results and delivering to deadlines


  • Be curious: learn to recognize needs, spot trends, anticipate issues, pivot projects, and solve problems


  • Highly disciplined, able to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while excelling in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


  • Strong data analysis skills and experience utilizing data analysis tools and techniques
