The Compliance Privacy Director will lead our core privacy advisory teams to ensure business lines and corporate initiatives comply with applicable federal and state Privacy laws and regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other new privacy laws across the enterprise.
The Compliance Privacy Director performs a key risk management role and applies analytical skills to drive actions in support of privacy risk objectives for the Compliance department and impacted business lines. While working within and supporting an overall compliance risk management framework, the Compliance Privacy Director also provides strategic support and counsel to the Compliance Privacy Officer. The Compliance Privacy Director is responsible for delivering quality results and providing sound compliance advice to business lines as a subject matter expert.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manage privacy compliance advisory teams that support our core business lines
Ensure team fulfills on expectations and deliverables under the compliance management program
Analyze business initiatives, including new products and processes, to determine whether they comply with applicable laws and regulations
Exercise sound judgment to effectively assess and balance risk in the provision of compliance advice to the business
Maintain expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, keeping up with and advising the business on current developments
Regularly interact with business partners, both 1:1 and in group settings, to influence processes, procedures, and controls
Assess the impact and advise on remediation of breakdowns or findings, including consumer complaints
Actively engage with others within the department, including other subject matter experts and transaction testing team members
Identify trends in compliance data and proactively advise on identified internal and external risks

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 7 years of privacy, compliance risk management, risk management, legal, audit experience or a combination
At least 3 years of experience in people management
Preferred Qualifications:
JD, MBA, or other graduate degree
At least 10 years of privacy, compliance risk management, risk management, legal, audit experience or a combination at a financial institution
At least 5 years of experience in strategic consulting and strategic initiative management
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Risk Professional (CRP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
