THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Conduct availability clearance searches and advise on results
- Assist with international opposition and cancellation proceedings
- Assist with trademark and copyrights disputes, identifying evidence, preparing documents
- Prepare evidence in support of domain dispute complaints
- Conduct counterfeit investigations and enforcement action
- Draft and negotiate IP provisions in commercial agreements
- Support Rivian group merger, acquisition and financing activities as they relate to trademark and domain issues
- Communicate with and/or draft correspondence to outside counsel and foreign agents regarding filings
- Review and assess watch notices for brand abuse
- Review and assess trademark and domain name watch notices
- Review marketing collateral for IP policy compliance
- Secure test purchases of products for evidentiary purposes
- Prepare and maintain accurate records related to investigations and notices sent
- Conduct background investigations using both the internet and commercial databases to research people and business entities
- Monitor all internal communication channels for IP questions
- Prepare and manage Anaqua dockets and weekly reporting on global brand progress
THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school, and an active member in good standing of California or Michigan Bar
- Must have at least 8 years of IP experience with strong background in trademark, marketing, and branding initiatives
- Ability to work in fast paced and rapidly changing environments
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and drafting skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines
- Ability to prepare, negotiate, and draft complex agreements relative to marketing and branding initiatives
- Understanding of IP issues relative to marketing and entertainment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tie threads and connect people to gain a 360 degree view of issues
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional clients to achieve goals and foster communication
