Corporate Paralegal

The Role
This is an exciting and challenging role in a fast-paced environment, working with the legal and leadership teams responsible for handling a variety of initiatives across all departments. This is truly a general role, exposing you to all aspects of the law. The detailed-oriented and self-starter Corporate Paralegal will support and assist the in-house attorney(s) by providing various support services including document preparation and review; research, investigations, and fact checking; working with outside law firms and commercial partners and helping our business deliver fast and practical solutions to our company’s diverse and growing legal and compliance needs.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize an array of legal documents, including such in the fields of employment, management services, real estate, intellectual property, data processing, SaaS, general corporate and mergers and acquisitions
- Manage various contract templates and contract management database and software including training new associates on workflow integration, coordinate contract review workflow, monitoring and providing notice to responsible individuals of upcoming deadlines and next actions
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and of industry legal standards and norms; analyze how these might impact Metropolis; research and assist with compliance issues
- Arrange for delivery of various legal correspondence
- Keep internal clients informed of relevant updates on legal issues and implications of their current operations and proposed actions, and advises them accordingly
- Work with outside counsel in their representation of litigation and other legal matters
- Coordinate corporate strategy into mid- and long-term goals and the analysis and evaluation of trends
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
- Associate degree in legal studies or related field from an accredited college or university
- Paralegal Certificate with 5+ years of related experience
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
- Commitment to maintain confidentiality of work-related information
- Ability to plan and manage time for multiple tasks to meet established deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for transportation, mobility, and/or Proptech is a plus!
