BillGO is seeking a junior attorney with 1-3 years of transactional experience to join its legal team as Corporate Counsel to support the day-to-day general corporate and commercial needs of the business. The ideal candidate will have broad experience drafting and negotiating a range of commercial transactions, including software licensing agreements. Previous exposure to financial regulations and consumer protection laws is a definite plus. The candidate should be customer service oriented and should be prepared to build rapport with the sales and alliances teams to support BillGO’s strategic growth efforts.
Key Requirements:
- Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a recognized Bar
- 1-3 years of experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house, preferably at a high growth technology company
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
- Varied transactional experience with superior drafting skills and strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues
- Ability to prioritize appropriately and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s legal department and across all businesses
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Responsibilities:
- Negotiating, writing and executing agreements and contracts on behalf of the company, ranging from standard NDAs to complex, high-dollar agreements with Financial Institutions
- Offering counsel on a variety of legal issues
- Working alongside other departments within the company
- Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals
- Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company
- Reviewing product flows and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal and contractual requirements
- Providing training to the company on legal topics
