RingCentral, Inc. is looking for an experienced, practical Corporate Counsel, Procurement Contracts attorney with 4-6 years of specific experience to join our legal team. The individual will be required to work closely with other members of the legal department, other departments within RingCentral, as well as outside partners and attorneys to review, negotiate and manage contracts with RingCentral’s vendors and VARs. This position also requires a desire and willingness to work on multiple and varied other legal projects and issues for RingCentral, including those relating to contract execution and internal policies as well as projects to help in the overall administration of the legal function within RingCentral.
The individual will be comfortable working in a company geared towards aggressive domestic and international growth and will be responsible for managing the expectations of the various departments as well as engaging directly with vendors during contract negotiations. The individual will have exposure to many other teams and varied projects within RingCentral and must be comfortable with and adept at juggling many agreements and projects in a very fast paced atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Help build and strengthen communications and relationships between the Legal and client departments
Update and evangelize rules of the road and policies dealing with the contract review and approval process
Draft, review and negotiate vendor, partner, VAR and other agreements customary to a fast-growing global cloud communications company, collaborating with the other departments, and other attorneys responsibility for specific functions related to the development and management of the Legal department’s contracting function
Help manage incoming agreements that are received from various departments within the Company, such agreements will be broad-based and may include confidentiality, data security and privacy, consulting, facilities, commercial and marketing, IT, and general services agreements
Manage various aspects of the RingCentral contract review, negotiation and execution processes
Create, update and maintain contract templates, playbooks, SOPs
Serve as backup for negotiation of sales side agreements
Willingly assist Legal Department colleagues with their projects and activities to contribute to a collegial atmosphere and to balance workloads
Requirements
JD degree licensed to practice law
Attorney with 4-6 years of specific experience
At least four years of combined in-house and/or with a national law firm; in-house experience working extensively with a variety of contracts required, preferably in cloud communications or a related industry
Experience managing the expectations of aggressive functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organization and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate and function well in a team environment
