Overall, you will have a broad range of responsibilities, including management of complex technology transactions, partnerships and strategic agreements, providing strategic legal advice and business counsel, and involvement in product counseling (including AI/data science), compliance, data privacy, security and other technological initiatives. As one of LivePerson’s subject matter experts, you will collaborate with business partners across the company to accelerate key business initiatives.

In this role you will:

• Commercial and Tech Transactions:  Provide advice and assistance to support key commercial (with LivePerson direct customers, vendor sand distribution partners), business, product and strategic initiatives and advise deal teams on legal, structural, product and other key issues that arise in these transactions..
• Product & Privacy Counseling:  Advise on new product strategy and provide product counseling in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, such as GDPR, E-Privacy, CCPA and TCPA.  Assist with pursuit of patents and IP portfolio expansion.  Research and advice regarding privacy and other laws of import to the company and its clients.  Monitor and advise on upcoming developments
• Corporate:  Help develop and maintain corporate policies, procedures and programs.  Monitor and address relevant industry regulations.  Assist with corporate governance, subsidiary compliance and training matters across a global landscape. 

Your qualifications are: 

• 3-7 years of technology and transactional experience including buy-side, sell-side, and channel partnerships, preferably for software and  SaaS / cloud-based services.
• J.D. from a nationally recognized law school with excellent academic credentials
• Ability to develop business-friendly solutions and communicate legal guidance succinctly and clearly.
• Experience with privacy, information security, and e-commerce matters.
• Strong negotiation skills and business acumen, and a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• Admitted to practice in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
