Overview
Provides support for the review and summarization of vendor contracts. Manages the contract lifecycle process including supplier commodity management processes, contractual service level agreements (SLAs), source selection, contract negotiations, contract drafting and implementation processes. Responsible for development and implementation of contract formation, negotiation and administration of policies and processes in accordance with customer expectations and corporate strategic objectives.
Job Description

  • Provides support for the review and summarization of vendor contracts to minimize company's risk
  • May serve as the lead negotiator, drafter or manager for small to medium-sized contracts (contracts under $500K)
  • Lead projects to support operational process improvement and coordination to ensure proper contract execution and data capture
  • May be assigned a specific aspect of a contract
  • May serve as second chair on large contracts
  • Establishes process and procedures to support internal compliance with company policy
  • Coordinates communications and information dissemination with sales force and cross-functional organizations
  • Works on assignments where considerable judgement and initiative are required in resolving problems and making choices, recommendations, or decisions
  • Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgement on business matters
  • Participates on negotiating teams regarding moderately complex contracts
  • Handles support and coordination to ensure effective execution of moderately complex contracts
  • Able to lead function regional teams on projects that will impact contracting process, if needed
  • Able to support global projects, if needed
  • Manages multiple contracts and projects with varying deadlines
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers at the mid management levels
  • Performs other related duties, as required and assigned
  • Demonstrates behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Paralegal certification and/or other legal qualification, contracts or equivalent work experience is highly desired
  • Advanced knowledge of contracts
  • Highly organized and has the ability to stay on task and meet deadlines
  • Proven management and delegation ability
  • Ability to establish and implement department goals and objectives
  • Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related software)
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual agreements
  • Determined to gain excellent knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and to communicate implementation procedures to others
  • Ability to perform in a complex cross-functional environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain good business relationships with all levels of company personnel including contracts team members, external stakeholders and customers
  • Awareness of financial and revenue recognition standards a plus
