About this Opportunity
We are looking for a talented, combination Commercial & Product Counsel for our legal team.
You will be working under the direction of our Deputy General Counsel, will be working closely with many teams across the organization, and will have a direct impact on the company as we continue to grow our business. You must be an energetic team player, yet able to operate independently, and be able to provide counseling on a wide range of legal and business issues and translating business needs into key legal protections. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong attorney who wants to wear many hats and work on a broad range of legal issues at a fast paced startup company!
What You Will Do

• Commercial transactions - draft, negotiate, and structure inbound and outbound contracts including sales agreements, consulting agreements, technology licensing agreements, and NDAs. Maintain our product T&Cs, keeping up to date with new developments.
• Privacy and data security - ensure compliance with various data security and privacy laws such as CCPA & CPRA, keep our privacy policy updated, and counsel on marketing and advertising matters.
• Intellectual property - help defend and prosecute our registered IP, evaluate open-source procedures and other IP related work.
• Product counseling - work closely on new products that require thoughtful and creative legal guidance, including international questions, and help balance risk and rewards.

Who You Are

• JD from top law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. State bar.
• 6+ years relevant experience, split between a premier law firm and inhouse at a company.
• Subject matter expertise in commercial and product counseling.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Sound judgment and strong negotiating skills.
• Ability to work well with a small, tightly-knit team, and the range to deal effectively with everyone.
• Ability and desire to seek leadership, responsibility and work autonomously. Appetite for handling multiple projects simultaneously with strong follow up.
