As a Legal Editor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our legal data products.
About the Role
The Legal Editor (LE), Practical Guidance is responsible for processing and publishing content, assuring the integrity, utility and currency of content assigned to the position. This must be done in the context of strict adherence to the publishing schedule and compliance with standards, including editorial benchmarks and quality assurance measures. Close interaction with support staff and operations personnel is required to carry out the role effectively. The Editor is also responsible for assisting the team to meet the team’s overall portfolio responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Edit manuscript for content and organisation to ensure accuracy, currency, relevance, conformance, accessibility and timeliness.
- Perform original research as required.
- Ensure that developments in the law are monitored and flow through into content in a timely manner as agreed within departmental SLAs.
- Expert competency in technical aspects of online content publications, assumes the role of the default go-to experts for all editorial operation aspects associated with Practical Guidance platform.
- Work with team, colleagues and customers to develop and implement ongoing product development.
- Commission or develop updates to existing content in response to legal and regulatory changes
- Participate in product reviews and CDIs to gather market feedback on keeping the product value proposition relevant and fit-for-purpose
- Adhere to the publishing schedule and SLA; implement agreed plans for product enhancements.
- Obtain end-to-end view of workflow requirements to meet launch deliverables
- Key owner of all production roadmaps and trackers
- Regular reporting of project status, flagging necessary resourcing, costs or other risks and dependencies with the ability to pre-empt risks for early mitigation
- Work together with other cross-functional department as necessary to implement projects in agile manner
- Work with Global Technology Operations colleagues to ensure functional operation of editorial content management system, publishing back-end systems
- Support the sales and marketing teams with information relating to the product catalogue;
- Build effective relationships with colleagues, customers (internal and external) and management to ensure efficient execution of tasks and roadmaps;
- Work with team, colleagues and customers to develop and implement continuous process improvements to achieve best practice.
- Review and suggest improvements to workflow for improved efficiency/ turnaround metrics
Requirements
- Tertiary Education Qualification required, degree in Law preferred;
- Legal Research and analytical skills; knowledge of Malaysia and Singapore
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft suites, business software
- Keen interest in AI
- Minimum 2-year experience in legal industry, practice experience advantageous
- High interest in publishing and editorial process
- Demonstrable track record in managing projects and deliverables
- High level of written and spoken English skills
- Technical competency XML-based or related content management systems an advantage but not a mus
- Working to tight deadlines, adherence to internal standards and metrics
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management abilities and problem-solving skills
