At Healthcare Australia (HCA), we are united by a shared commitment: to be a valued partner to our clients and provide a strong sense of purpose for our staff. As Australia's largest specialist healthcare workforce provider, we connect exceptional talent with meaningful opportunities, driving excellence across the healthcare sector. At HCA, this is where care begins.
Job DescriptionAs our Legal Counsel, you’ll work closely with the General Counsel to support the HCA business across a wide variety of legal and commercial matters — from healthcare and government contracts to projects spanning HR, IT, and marketing. This is a hands-on role where you’ll partner with teams across the organisation to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice that helps drive the business forward.
Your week might include:
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial and government contracts
Advising on privacy, dispute resolution, and risk management matters
Helping teams interpret obligations, meet compliance requirements, and apply practical common sense to real-world issues
Supporting our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and driving its adoption across the business
Let’s talk about you!
You’re a confident, commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, in-house environment and knows how to balance legal risk with business priorities. With around four years’ post-qualification experience, ideally across both private practice and in-house roles, you bring strong skills in contract review, negotiation and pragmatic advice.
Experience in healthcare or government is a plus, and if you’re familiar with CLM systems, even better. Above all, you’re proactive, practical and adaptable — because HCA’s legal work is nothing if not diverse.
Bring your expertise to HCA and be rewarded with:
Impactful Role: A chance to work with a well-respected Australian organisation and make a significant impact on its future
Hybrid Work Model: Opportunity to work from home up to two days per week
- Health Insurance Discount: A 7% discount on BUPA Private Health Insurance
- Extra Leave: Enjoy a paid day off for your birthday to relax and celebrate
