Caterpillar Inc. seeks Lead Software Engineer at its facility located at 5205 N. O'Connor Boulevard, Suite 100, Irving, Texas 75039. Use highly specialized programming skills to understand business requirements, create functionality and solve problems in Salesforce software using a variety of web languages, software programs, and technologies. Develop custom applications using Lightning Components and Lightning Web Components and LWC Testing Framework to ensure high-quality defect free products. Communicate with project managers, clients, and technicians and ensure efficient participation in all phases of development from testing to maintenance. Responsible across functional lines with individuals assigned in new program development and/or maintenance of existing mobile, WEB, Cloud, server, personal computer, mainframe, and/or distributed computing systems. Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision. Normally assigned more complex aspects of systems work. Act as team leader for development and support groups. Provide programming and application, and technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members. Work directly on complex application and technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development focused on delivering business valuable features. Mentor and assist software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Guide the team to develop a structured application and interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides in a casual, flexible environment. Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Lead development of new functionality and applications on cross-functional Agile project teams. Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components requiring careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Perform other job duties as assigned. REQS: This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in computer science or a related field and six (6) years of software development experience or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 6 years of experience designing and developing software applications in Salesforce; (2) Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software in large scale Salesforce Orgs; (3) Datastores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Oracle; (4) Developing software applications using relational and NoSQL databases; (5) Application architectural patterns, such as: MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.; (6) Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, GoCD, Azure Devops etc.; (7) Working within an Agile framework such as: Scrum; (8) Writing API proxies on platforms such as: Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway or Azure API Gateway; and (9) API tools such as: Swagger, Postman and Assertible.
