Job Summary:
As a Lead Software Engineer in the Public Cloud Engineering team, you will play a key role in enhancing, building, and delivering trusted technology products. You will work within an agile team focused on secure, stable, and scalable solutions. You'll contribute technical expertise across multiple areas, supporting our business objectives. Your work will help shape our technology landscape and drive meaningful change. You'll be part of a culture that values diversity, opportunity, and respect.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
- Drive outcomes-oriented probing of applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologies
- Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Cloud engineering experience in provisioning resources in Google Cloud Platform or AWS
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Go
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within cloud engineering (GCP, AWS)
- Practical cloud native experience on GCP and/or AWS
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of financial services industry and IT systems
- Practical experience with cloud platform technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and distributed systems architecture
