Job Responsibilities:
What you can expect
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Kubernetes Engineer to join our globally distributed operations team. This role focuses on managing and optimizing containerized workloads with Kubernetes in hybrid environments (bare metal, VMware, AWS, Azure). You'll work closely with senior team members to deploy, automate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications using tools such as Docker, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI/CD. While prior experience with Linux environments is welcome, in-depth Linux knowledge is not required; hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and containers is the primary focus.
- Assist in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and cloud environments (bare metal, VMware, AWS, Azure)
- Operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring reliability and adherence to best practices
- Support GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for automating deployments, synchronization, and rollback processes
- Maintain and troubleshoot pipelines in GitLab CI/CD, including container builds, testing, and deployments
- Create and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests (ConfigMaps, Secrets, Deployments, StatefulSets) under senior guidance
- Monitor the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters and applications using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Troubleshoot networking issues (DNS, ingress controllers, load balancers) within Kubernetes environments
- Help integrate Kubernetes storage solutions (S3 buckets, persistent volumes) to support stateful applications
- Learn and apply container security techniques: image scanning, secrets management, and runtime policies
- Collaborate with team members internationally, documenting processes and sharing knowledge
What you'll bring
- Foundational understanding of Kubernetes and containerization technologies
- Hands-on experience with Docker (image creation, container lifecycle management, troubleshooting)
- Basic familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD (experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, ideally GitLab CI/CD, with experience in automating builds and deployments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes resource definitions (pods, deployments, ConfigMaps, secrets) and Helm charts
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing) relevant for Kubernetes environments
- Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Nice to have
- Basic understanding of monitoring tools, such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS)
- Linux command-line skills and basic system troubleshooting knowledge (optional but beneficial)
- Interest or exposure to GPU workloads within containers
- Experience using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
What we offer
- Flexible working hours and hybrid work
- Health programs, sports and team events
- An extensive training program and exciting internal development opportunities
- Meal allowance
