What about the role?
We are looking for a junior software engineer who wants to learn from experienced teammates while contributing directly to the development of Hedvig’s products. You will work across parts of our stack, collaborate closely with product and design, and help build features that make a real difference for our members.
You’ll work with our modern tech stack, which includes:
- Back-end services in Kotlin with Spring Boot
- Web with Next.js and Vercel
- Native mobile apps in Swift and Kotlin
- GraphQL as our API layer
- Micro-service architecture
- Hosting on AWS
You’re not expected to know all of this from day one. What matters is that you’re curious, willing to learn, and comfortable diving into unfamiliar technologies with support from the team.
What about you?
You have a solid foundation in software engineering and a genuine interest in modern development practices. You may have limited industry experience, but you’ve built things, at work, in school or on your own, and you’re excited to keep improving your craft.
We believe you’ll thrive here if you:
- Have 0–1 years of professional experience as a software engineer, or strong internship/project experience
- Have a good understanding of computer science fundamentals
- Enjoy learning new technologies and exploring how to use them effectively
- Are curious about how AI can enhance products and engineering workflows, even if you’re early in your experience with it
- Like working collaboratively with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers
- Care about writing clean, maintainable code and improving your skills over time
- Are motivated by solving real user problems and building valuable product experiences
