Preferred Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a degree in or a recent graduate in UI design or a comparable field such as UX design, information technology, human-computer interaction (HCI), motion design, UX research, graphics or visual design, interaction design, or human factors
- Have a foundational understanding of common UI and UX design heuristics and principles and how to apply them to improve a product's design
- Proficiency in common wireframing, prototyping, and collaboration tools
Job Summary
As an intern on the Rocket Mortgage UI Design team, you will work as a member of a cross-disciplinary product design team to help define, design, and deliver best-in-class digital experiences that address user needs and deliver business value to our products.
As an intern, you will be paired up with established UI Designers to assist with their work and hone their skills in user interface design, interactive prototyping, design systems, design critiquing, and presentation as well as assisting the UX Designer and UX Writers with requirement gathering and workshop facilitation. This is an opportunity to expand your workload and influence as well as deliver your design tasks under the mentorship of our experienced UX Designers.

Responsibilities
- Creating and iterating on UI designs in collaboration with UX design and UX writing to deliver hi-fi mock-ups and prototypes.
- Assist in developing user flows, wireframes, and lo-fi prototypes for rapid, iterative user interface definition and improvement
- Assist in planning and facilitation of design thinking and stakeholder workshops to frame problems, create context, build alignment around a common direction and drive decisions
- Assist in defining and documenting functional, and interaction design requirements that will ensure the product meets user needs and expectations
- Assist in designing experiences that account for user needs
- Collaborates with UX designers, UX writers, and engineers to iterate early concepts into polished designs
- Present and communicate design recommendations clearly alongside other UX Designers to leadership and stakeholders
