Summary
Xcel Energy Environmental Services waste group has an exciting opportunity for a college intern to assist with a variety of waste compliance and operational related projects at its Hazardous Waste Storage Facility near downtown Minneapolis. The successful candidate would assist with a combination of office related projects along with site visits and shadowing opportunities with environmental analysts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current college student, junior or senior
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a related field
• Able to commute to assigned work location
• Ability to work approximately 10-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer or holiday breaks
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and able to learn other Company information and management systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work in a team, and independently

Intern tasks/projects may include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with data analysis and document maintenance
• Learn to use and enter data in environmental enterprise management system
• Contribute to procedure and training updates
• Participate in meetings
• Assist with compliance related tasks and assignments and lead special projects
• Conduct equipment inventories
• Learn about the various regulations relating to waste, industrial stormwater & other media

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $19.20 per hour
