The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers to establish and improve tools maintenance through innovative solutions that include software design and implementation of subsystems, data acquisition, analysis such as signal processing, equipment simulation, and cryptographic data protection strategies. Our products are complex and data plays a major role in the maintenance of these products to meet customer expectations. The successful candidate will be able to review aspects of the design and suggest changes or additions to the products to make them more supportable and predictable. The candidate will drive designs that are quick to prototype and then drive toward system-level testing to prove the concept. The candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including Systems, Software, Mechanical, Optical and Electrical engineers to prove these solutions in a timely manner.

We are looking for highly motivated self-driven individual with knowledge of data acquisition systems, design of experiments, basic statistical methods, networks, communication protocols, programming languages, and, ideally, equipment control or scientific instrumentation.

The successful candidate will apply technical knowledge to real life technical problems will use data to make products better. This requires collaboration and team-work across different disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an appropriate Software, Computational, Engineering or Physical Sciences program persuing a Bachelor's degree, and demonstrating a record of academic excellence. Highly desired: understanding of basic physics and electronics, some knowledge of digital signal processing, image acquisition theory and methods, basic data presentation skills, some knowledge of programming tools such as python / numpy, C, C++, and Java. The candidate should have strong analytical, technical and problem-solving capabilities.

Must demonstrate perseverance and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting with individuals across different geographies, as needed
