Position Description:

The intern for this role is responsible for supporting the business of Alcon's customers through various related projects within systems analysis, architecture or integration, information protection, cyber security, application development, and other areas of Information Technology. The IT intern role will participate in supply chain, manufacturing and quality business functions within Alcon.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and execution of defined projects
• Leading governance set up and meetings
• Identify key areas of improvement and propose solutions
• Work with operational teams to implement improvement measures
• Define specific measurements of improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.
• Must be pursuing at least a Bachelor's level degree in Information Technology, computer science, business information systems or related major.
• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)
• Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hrs per week) summer internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Understanding of analytics and reporting
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Applying demonstrated experience of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, ) as well as any other relevant software or technologies to the role
• General understanding of agile way of working
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Team player, ability to work with various business partners
• Highly dedicated working style that is pragmatic and outcome oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
