Job Description Summary
Are you looking to hone your investigative accounting skills through real-world experience? At Travelers, we ensure our internships provide development and learning opportunities while allowing students to get a taste of the insurance industry. The Claim Accounting Services' Forensic Accounting Intern will gain first-hand business experience, receive valuable on-the-job training, and discover all that is done to support Auto, General Liability and Property claims. You will work on challenging assignments that will utilize and develop your technical accounting skills and your overall business skills to provide a foundation for success at Travelers and beyond.Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Gain real-world accounting experience as you tackle projects critical to Travelers' success.
- Learn how to analyze and review business insured accounting records and financial statements.
- Develop collaboration skills by working with claim professionals to quantify losses.
- Network with peers, teams, and many levels of leadership and management during work assignments.
- Develop business skills and create an avenue for success in the insurance industry.
Minimum Qualifications
- Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
- Goal to pursue a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
- Basic understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other accounting fundamentals.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Undergraduate students completing their junior year.
- Demonstrated analytical, quantitative analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.
