Autonomous Vehicle Research Intern: Rulebooks (ML)
The Rulebooks team formalizes the desired behavioral specifications of our vehicles as many, potentially conflicting, rules with different priorities. In this role, you will support the team’s effort on learning the priorities of rules and potential trade-offs between violation or satisfaction of conflicting rules from naturalistic driving behavior and/or preference-based datasets (See https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.13507 , https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.11810 ). You will use recent advances in deep learning to identify the priorities of rules, and predict optimal trajectories for the AV in various driving scenarios.
What You'll Be Doing
- Learn from data how drivers trade-off complying with various driving rules with different priorities
- Conduct research in the area of deep learning to guide generation of optimal behaviors for AVs
What We're Looking For
- Graduate student in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, or related field
- Strong experience with deep learning models (RL, IRL, RNN)
- Proficiency in Python, including standard machine learning libraries and pytorch, tensorflow
- Research experience and publications in well-established ML venues
Bonus Points (not required)
- Experience in and understanding of autonomous driving technologies
- Proficiency in Git
