The Red Hat Strategic Expedition Team (SET) is looking for a creative, passionate individual who is ready to join us as a Strategic Expedition Intern and learn within an innovative and dynamic company as we expand globally. In this role, you will use your great investigative and problem-solving skills to conduct company and industry research to pitch and justify investments into Red Hat's and IBM's offerings. This is a global customer-facing role in which you'll need to establish a trusted adviser relationship with internal and external stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for a penultimate year MBA student looking for global experiences in strategy consulting, value creation, and business development work.
What you will do

  • Support opportunity pursuits for Red Hat's top enterprise accounts, Fortune 500 companies
  • Communicate the value of business transformation enabled by technology to customers
  • Be responsible for translating Red Hat offerings into compelling commercial business cases guided by insight into the dynamics of large complex enterprises
  • Have a potential opportunity to travel, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Thrive in a fast-paced client-facing sales environment and be comfortable with supporting sales to achieve and exceed performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales quotas
  • Work with SET leadership to define the messaging and narrative for the team and establish a Community of Practice across a large organization
  • Manage customer-facing content for executives, including communications
  • Conduct primary data gathering through interviews
  • Construct a first draft for a storyline in a presentation
  • Assist with the preparation of thought-provoking executive proposals to engage customers in long-term business relationships


What you will bring

  • Ability to work full time May-August
  • Currently pursuing an MBA from a top university; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date
  • Motivated and organized
  • 1+ years experience with management consulting, investment banking, or a similarly analytical role within a complex selling environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct company and industry research and document trends, forecasts, and business strategy
  • Competent with spreadsheets and financial metrics to assist with building and manipulating spreadsheets for business cases
  • Good written and verbal communication skills


The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with open source, Linux, and Red Hat's offerings and solutions
  • Knowledge of Google Drive and Google Workspace
  • Passion for innovation, creativity, and working collaboratively
  • Familiarity with cloud providers and channels and alliances
  • Interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within a wide range of organizations
  • Degree in business or a related field
  • International business experience
  • Language skills in other languages than English
