As an SSD Firmware Engineer intern (Simulation) in the SSD Engineering group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will develop simulation models for FW components for an SSD. You are expected to work closely with FW developers, system architects, firmware architects, firmware test architects, system hardware design engineers, product engineers, memory architecture engineers to develop the simulation models. You are expected to work with project firmware teams to isolate, characterize and resolve issues. These activities will entail choosing the appropriate simulation tools/environment; constructing or modifying component models.
Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Code/Document/test new SSD simulation features.
  • Work with project firmware team on development of new models features and resolve issues with current models.
  • Work with simulation engineers in creating software models based on device data sheets, and/or standards specifications.
  • Maintain test environment and test scripts.

Successful candidates for this position will have:
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of multitasking, event driven software models using C/C++ programming.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • The ability to analyze complex software issues.
  • A high level of self-motivation and dedication.
  • The ability to work well on a team based in different global locations.
  • The ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Knowledge of Python, System C, and Agile is plus
  • Jenkins experience is a plus

Education: BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
