WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers
Write code to improve products and scale the mission capability to more customers
Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps
Empathize with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior engineering internship experience, along with current academic pursuits & studies in the areas of: Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
Approaching Junior year or beyond at the time of the internship.
Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
Proficiency in a variety of programming languages such as Go, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc.
A desire to work on software and applications that have real-world impact.
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it.
Be naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use.
Have a point-of-view, but are still low-ego.

Gokul Subramanian likens the perception team to the “eyes and ears” of Anduril. It’s an apt comparison: His team works across the entirety of the company’s products, enjoying autonomy over the tech stack while weighing the effects of engineering decisions. To do so successfully, Subramanian applies a deliberately integrative tact: “The challenge here is coordinating such a complex system with so many interdependencies,” he said.

There are always opportunities to move across the stack. Most of our projects require a cross-disciplinary approach, so you’re never siloed to only working within your team.

Jen Isaza often talks about the “Christmas morning” feeling that arrives every time she gets to play with Anduril’s wide breadth of sensor technology. She’s thankful for a tech stack that allows her and her team to take on multifaceted roles that play to their strengths. “I’m working on radar integration and tooling for our Sensor Towers, as well as a machine learning model development for Ghost,” she said. “The perception team is pretty unique in the sense that we can work on different sensors such as cameras and radars, but still remain on the same team.”
