The Openpath Software Engineering team specializes in the fulfillment of world class software applications used for Openpath’s access control solutions which makes businesses more secure with multi-factor authentication, enables a contactless entry experience and can be easily scaled and managed due to its cloud-based architecture.
Job Description

In this student internship, the candidate will report to the DevOps Manager. The DevOps team is responsible for supporting Software Engineering teams through building tools to automate a variety of tasks, deploying and managing software to over 10,000 units installed at customer sites, and managing related cloud-based operations. This position is exposed to the entire stack; it’s a great opportunity to become more familiar with Linux and Linux troubleshooting while also directly improving existing software tools and products used by customers every day. 

NOTE: Because this is a student internship, the candidate must be a currently enrolled student in a degree-seeking accredited program.

This is a full-time intern position.. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately three months.

Responsibilities: 

• Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems.

• Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.

• Develops, validates, and tests software designed to automate operations functions across the fleet of installed units.

• Familiar with bash scripting along with Python/Java and/or Go software languages (we primarily use Python, but familiarity with other languages is fine)

• Great team player, interpersonal communication skills, team spirit and adaptability

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or a related discipline

• Must have basic programming knowledge, Python/Java

• Familiarity with bash scripting is a plus

• Basic knowledge of automation technology

• Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or a related discipline

• Completed at least sophomore year of Bachelor’s degree

• Must be graduating on or after December 2022

• Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship. Currently, this organization is unable to support candidates that are on OPT, CPT or candidates that will need sponsorship, now or in the future
