Department OverviewMotorola Solution’s Video Division provides trusted security solutions to the global market. We design, develop, and manufacture video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Motorola’s solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Motorola is seeking a Big Data Software Engineer, Python Co-op for our Video Analytics team who is passionate about building powerful applications to support and improve our industry leading video analytics research and development efforts. This person would develop testing and evaluation tools, working closely with a team of computer vision and deep learning experts responsible for developing new video analytics algorithm and approaches, and with a software engineering team productizing those solutions.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Develop new computer vision and artificial intelligence visualization, testing, and analytics tools
- Review code of peers for adherence to coding standards and design guidelines
- Evaluate and utilize the latest concepts, tools, and technologies
- Collaborate with the computer vision and deep learning teams to understand relevant use cases and with the automation and testing team to identify test cases for new features and areas for regression tests
Qualifications:
- Progress towards a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills (Python)
- Experience with build systems, and version control systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently, and work within a team
- Experience with databases
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Exposure to Agile software development practices
- Experience with image processing, OpenCV, deep learning
- Some experience with C++
- Web development experience
- Familiarity with MongoDB
Basic Requirements
- Progress towards a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
