Position Summary
As a leading supplier of infrared (IR) imaging, DRS NIS - Texas is seeking a process engineering technician who will be responsible for supporting processes used to manufacture IR materials. Responsibilites will include process and equipment validation, material disposition, process development, and process troubleshooting. This position is critical to success of DRS IR imaging products.
Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
• Education: Progress towards college degree in Computer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Electrical Engineering• Experience: 0+ years • Ability to conduct design analysis and/or calculations with limited guidance • Ability to execute software coding projects independently• Ability to effectively manage time and other resources in order to complete assigned tasks according to approved schedules and technical requirements• Provides clear and concise reports on project progression• Teamwork skills and strong work ethic are essential to success• Must have excellent problem solving ability and tenacity• VB.NET and/or C#
Desired Skills
• Have taken Chemistry or Material Science classes a plus• Database SQL experience• Microsoft Visual Studio• Visual Basic (VB.NET)• C#
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Re-write VB.NET software for better code organization and efficiency• Design and create database tables and integrate SQL queries into VB.NET code in order to automate process recipes• Test code updates in a cleanroom environment• Integrate new hardware with existing VB.NET software• Other duties as assigned
