Why This Role Is Valuable
Our Risk intern is hired for a 10-week immersive experience that will provide a general overview all areas of risk management with a team that supports a dynamic real estate portfolio. The intern will have the opportunity to meet with insurance professionals from both the broker and underwriting sides of the business. Upon conclusion of the summer program, they will have a broad understanding of the day to day responsibilities of a risk management team and how we coordinate with both internal and external colleagues . Summer interns are immediately a part of our collaborative culture and build enduring relationships with their fellow interns, manager, and assigned mentor. Summer interns also have the opportunity to network with various professionals through organized social events. Finally, each summer intern will work with an assigned mentor to complete a project and present their findings with other interns to the executive leadership team. This position is based out of Revantage's headquarters in Chicago, IL.
Our 2022 summer internship program will begin June 2022 and last through August 2022. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program.
How You Add Value
- Manage special analytical risk management assignments, including compilation, review and analysis of underwriting data needed for various insurance renewals including, but not limited to: general liability, auto, property, excess liability, workers compensation, pollution, flood and management liability
- Key team member on generating a cost of risk financial analysis for insurance programs and captive insurance company
- Maintain and expand the Insurance Policy summary document
- Assist with claim tracking and research coverage issues
- Manage running Property Valuation reports
- Assist with tenant audit requests for invoices
- Assist with communication and implementation of insurance property loss control recommendations
- Accountable for assuring Certificates of Insurance, auto ID cards, etc. are issued, coordinating with Insurance Brokers when issues arise and continually reviewing for accuracy and need
What You Bring To The Role
Required:
- Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution (graduating 2023)
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Risk Management and/or related fields of study such as Actuarial, Business Administration, or Finance
- M inimum GPA of 3.2
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
- Desire to learn the functions of a risk management department and a strong ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in Chicago in a full-time capacity for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2022
