Grow what's next. Grow your future. Corteva Agriscience is seeking an intern to work within Insect Native Traits in Johnston, Iowa. The successful candidate will have a broad exposure to the day-to-day activities of a corn, soybean, cotton, and soybean trait development program.You will be involved with all aspects of field, greenhouse, and laboratory research for the development of insect control products. You will gain experience in conducting this research and become familiar with the biology and damage caused by key insect pests of corn and soybean.
In addition, you will be expected to have an independent research project that you will present at the conclusion of the internship.
A key component of the position will be conducting research activities with a focus on native insect traits to evaluate historic varieties for resistance to multiple insect pests. These activities may include: insect rearing, artificial infestation, rating insect damage, insect collections, and field activities.
Qualifications - What You'll Bring:
  • College Junior or above, majoring in Entomology, Integrated Pest Management, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Genetics, or a related field.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and self-initiative
  • Ability to work well with others
