This role allows you to work from anywhere you choose across the U.S. (excluding U.S. territories), with the flexibility to work from the Seattle HQ office as often as you’d like. Please note that no matter where you are located, all employees should be available during our core working hours from 10 am to 4 pm PT Monday through Friday.
Your role and impact
We are seeking an intern to remotely support the work of our Legal team part-time during the spring of 2022 and full-time during the summer of 2022. You will contribute in important areas such as cutting-edge research, tracking organization obligations and actions and setting the groundwork for growth. This is a unique opportunity to gain a legal perspective into both the technology and healthcare industries.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct state research to provide insight and guidance on the regulatory aspects affecting our healthcare technology product 
  • Perform research related to the practice of medicine, behavioral health laws and other healthcare subjects
  • Assist with developing policies and procedures related to state and federal privacy requirements, including HIPAA and other healthcare compliance issues
  • Provide support on other corporate legal needs

Qualifications

  • Available to work part-time during the spring of 2022 and full-time during the summer of 2022-fully remote
  • Student at an accredited law school
  • Completion of two years of law school required; or completion of one year of law school with significant prior healthcare experience
  • Experience in healthcare or privacy  
  • Interest in the intersection of technology and healthcare
  • Knowledge of macOS, G Suite and Westlaw preferred 
  • Flexibility and creativity 
  • Ability to summarize and communicate legal requirements in a simple and action-oriented manner for non-legal corporate stakeholders
