IT Intern

Callaway Golf, a global producer of premiere, state-of-the art golf clubs and balls, seeks business, economics or technology students to be a part of the 2022 internship season. No relocation assistance provided for this position.

The intern will participate in meaningful and value-added project work at our Carlsbad, CA headquarters and work in the IT Business Solutions teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help coordinate, research and provide information regarding business solutions, software or process improvements within the global applications group.
  • Task definition and tracking for enhancements or projects.
  • Business process review and or design.
  • Independent research on solutions or software.
  • Cost benefit analysis for solutions.
  • Collaborate within teams for assigned tasks.
  • Develop knowledge and configuration management systems.
  • Learn about processes, workflows and systems used within the company as well as perform analysis and administrative duties under close supervision.
  • Assist with identifying requirements and working to identify design enhancements for user interfaces with a focus on end user research and interaction design.
  • Learn about concepts in Requirements Analysis and Design, Project Management, and Agile development.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good business process knowledge.
  • Understanding or some experience in one or more of the following business functions will be desired: Warehouse Management, Transportation, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Procurement, Supplier Collaboration, Global Trade, Master Data Management, Product Life Cycle Management, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
  • Awareness of industry leading and innovative products.
  • Ability to recognize best-known methods and design standards.
  • Internal drive and urgency to solve problems systematically.
  • Attention to detail (organizing information, being accurate).
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality (including testing and validation).
  • Effective planning, prioritizing, goal setting skills.
  • Must possess high initiative and ability to be self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, able to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; flexibility; responsiveness.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Knowledge and some experience with software or ERP solutions, or SAP helpful (ECC, S4, EWM, APO, TMS, EWM, MFS, Ariba).


Education and/or Experience

  • Students with 2-3 years of coursework completed in one of the following majors: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Previous tech-related internship or prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for exploring new technologies.
